lyrics

Expectations grew,
From the seeds that I scattered unto,
Swaying grass.
They sink to the earth once they're cast.

Nothing left but time.
I sat on my porch step, waiting for a sign,
And when it came,
My poor seeds had seemed to meet with a terrible fate.

With every garden comes the rain.
Watch it pour for days on end.

When the storm had halt,
I studied the seeds and their growth.
Though the seeds were young,
The saplings had drank and grown strong.

Blossom far to come,
They orphaned the air to their lungs,
So the trunks grew tall. Their shadow I stood in,
Bracing them for fall.

After rain follows wind.
Feel the gusts again and again.
Run to the porch, my only friend.
Breezes, sly and swift.

Ashes to ashes,
Thunderbolts and crashes.
Wait until the storm has gone,
Don't watch it as it passes.

Ashes to ashes,
Thunderbolts and crashes.
Wait until the storm has gone,
Don't watch it as it passes.

Ashes to ashes,
Thunderbolts and crashes.
Wait until the storm has gone,
Don't watch it as it passes.
